Hey everyone! I'm flying out of John Wayne Airport in Orange County tomorrow morning at 6:45. Winging my way to Ft. Lauderdale, where I'll meet with Rhonda Penders, co-owner of The Wild Rose Press, and fellow authors for a Fun In The Sun Conferene Cruise. We'll set sail on the Navigator of the Seas for a fun-filled (and workshop filled) 3-day, 2-night cruise.
I'll be participating in my first booksigning (Heart of Stone was just released in print on Jan. 3rd.) while aboard ship. That should give me some experience for other signings I have lined up once I return home. I hope to learn a lot, eat a lot, and network with fellow authors...a lot.
One little snag. Sunday morning, I received an email that my flight itinerary had been changed. This is 3 days before I was to leave! They switched my return flight from 3:05 in the afternoon, to 6:15 in the morning. How sweet of them, huh? The fact that they were cutting into my vacation time, as well as the ship won't even be docked at 6:15, didn't really matter to them, I guess. Anyway, I called them and the bottom line is I have to stay an extra night in Florida...with hotel and meal vouchers courtesy of the airlines. I won't get home until the following day, which happens to be the day the family has made plans to celebrate my hubby's birthday.
Oh well, everything will work out. It always does. I'll let you know how the cruise goes, and maybe I'll even see some of you on the ship????
Sandra
